Experience with a broader view

Robert E. Dintaman, Esq. is the founder of RED Law Firm, LLC, with more than two decades of legal experience spanning civil and criminal litigation, appellate practice, business counsel, and corporate governance and compliance.

Born in Mansfield, Ohio and raised in a blue-collar environment, Rob brings a practical, client-focused perspective to matters carrying substantial personal, professional, financial, or organizational consequences — informed as much by courtroom experience as by years spent inside organizations as counsel.

That range includes trial and appellate work in complex civil and serious criminal matters, and service as General Counsel to Digital Health Care, Inc. and to Edgewater Towers Condominium Association, where he advised on litigation, business development, governance, and board responsibility. Rob holds his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Ohio University.

Rob's guiding view is that the visible dispute is rarely the whole problem — that effective representation often means examining the decisions, policies, communications, incentives, relationships, and failures of oversight that produced it. That perspective, built from working both sides of the Courtroom-to-Boardroom divide, now shapes how he advises clients on litigation risk, business formation, and organizational compliance and governance.

Rob practices from Lakewood, Ohio, in the greater Cleveland area — a region anchored by one of the country's largest concentrated healthcare economies, with major hospital systems, physician groups, and affiliated organizations operating alongside a dense network of vendors, condominium and homeowner associations, and closely held businesses. That environment generates a steady stream of the same underlying issues: unclear lines of authority, contracts that outlive the assumptions behind them, and internal concerns that surface long before they reach a courtroom.

Corporate Governance

Rob's corporate background includes service as General Counsel to Digital Health Care, Inc. and to Edgewater Towers Condominium Association, along with advisory work for condominium boards. That experience gave him direct, sustained exposure to how organizations assign authority, set policy, exercise oversight, and document significant decisions — the same issues that, left unaddressed, often surface later in litigation. This governance perspective now informs his work advising businesses and organizations on compliance, board and management responsibility, and regulatory risk. Areas of Focus

Litigation, counsel, and governance

Litigation

Civil and criminal matters, trials, appeals, discovery, evidence, and strategic case preparation.

Counsel

Contracts, organizational advice, policies, procedures, business planning, and dispute prevention.

Governance

Authority, accountability, internal controls, reporting structures, and institutional decision-making.

Representative Experience

Across courtroom and organization

Representative matters illustrate the range of Rob's work. They are presented for general information; every matter depends on its own facts, law, evidence, and procedural history.

Complex Civil Litigation

Matters involving negligence, wrongful hiring and supervision, toxic exposure, product liability, commercial disputes, contracts, noncompetition issues, and defamation.

Serious Criminal Matters

Trial and appellate work involving serious felony allegations, together with bond, motion, plea, sentencing, and post-conviction issues.

Appellate Work

Review of trial records, identification of legal issues, focused briefing, post-conviction analysis, and preservation of issues for review.

General Counsel Experience

Service as General Counsel to Digital Health Care, Inc. and Edgewater Towers Condominium Association, plus advice to condominium boards.

The Governance Connection

Litigation often exposes problems that began earlier: unclear authority, inadequate documentation, conflicting obligations, ineffective policies, failures of supervision, or warning signs that were not addressed. Rob's litigation and organizational experience provides a foundation for examining legal risk from both directions.
